2022-2026 Capital Levy Projects Update

Dear Community Members,

It is time to provide you with an update regarding the Capital Levy that was passed by the citizens in April of 2022. The levy was structured to run for four years through 2026 to pay for the following three areas: critical infrastructure needs, the transportation cooperative, and technology. The transportation cooperative was completed last spring and as we close the books on the project with the final payments, the project will be $40,000 under budget. This building will be owned outright by the taxpayers of Sultan School District at the end of 2026 when the current Capital Levy expires. Other work on critical infrastructure will now take precedence. A link to our website where a timeline of projects can be found is below.

We recently completed the installation of new gutters at Sultan High School. This project was part of a list of critical projects that were approved and funded by taxpayers as part of the 2022 Capital Levy. While the initial focus of Capital Levy funds has been on completing the new transportation cooperative building several smaller projects will now come into focus. Click on the following link 2022-2026 Capital Levy to find a list of projects that have been completed in the left column and a list of upcoming projects in the right column. When you scroll down further, you will come to a section called Project Details and it is here where you will find a list of all projects and which ones are complete. When you select one of the projects that have been completed you will see a tab that reads cost supportive documents. When you click on the cost supportive documents tab you will find the receipts of the project which can be compared to the project budget.

With the first day of school now behind us, I will focus on regular updates on things happening in the school district and Capital Levy project updates. I encourage you to come out and support our students, they are doing extraordinary things in the classroom and athletics. The first Sultan Turk football game is this Friday at 7:00 pm at the stadium on the campus at Sultan High School. Girl's soccer is set for Saturday at 1:00 pm also at our home stadium. On Tuesday, September 10th our girls’ volleyball team travels to Bellevue Christian High School for a game at 6:30 pm and finally, our boy's and girl's cross country teams will travel to Hartman Park for a meet on Wednesday at 4:00 pm. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
